The Lord Commander sat down and opened the pages of the White Book that contained the historical account of the noble Kingsguard brotherhood. He turne dto the page that had at the top in dark, cursive ink: Ser Rickard Tarly, the Demon. There, he read the history of the Kingsguard knight.

Ser Rickard Tarly, first of his named of House Tarly. Second son of Randall and Josephine Tarly, the former deceased. His other brother, Brandon Tarly, is the Lord of Horn Hill. Due to his brother claiming lordship over the lands, Rickard chose a life of servitude by taking the path to become a Kinsguard knight.

At the age of eleven, became squire to Ser Alastor Selmy the Ageless Knight. Ascended to knighthood at the age of eighteen.

Fought in the battle of Shield Islands against the Ironborn raiders, successfully defending the islands until Highgarden relieved them.

Won the Tournament of Highgarden, in which he bested Ser Rodrik Hightower, Ser Godfrey Dayne, and finally Ser Adam Florent.

During the War of the Usurper, faced Lord Richard Baratheon in the battle of Summerhall. The two clashed swords in fifty bouts, before both armies retreated.

After the War of the Usurper, King Richard Baratheon elevated him to Kingsguard, despite have fought on the side that had loss.

Loss his arm during the Greyjoy Rebellion ten years ago while protecting King Richard. The Tarly words, "First in Battle," came to mind when Ser Rickard took the field. Nicknamed, the Demon, afterwards.

Now his personal coat of arms is similar to that of House Tarly. A red huntsman with one arm, on a field of green, with the words "Wounded But Not Vanquished."

The Lord Commander then closed the pages of the White Book, hoping that there would be more to add to the legend of Ser Rickard Tarly.
