In Sunspear, he learned to be a great thief and survivalist. His calm and gentle disposition hides a lot of his exciting past, and many peg him for a lazy, happy eccentric. People of importance usually suspect otherwise, of course. -----Currently, he lives in King’s Landing but likes to move around when he can, even deigning to investigate certain rumors himself – not just those of importance to the state, but also those of personal interest. While in his normal, Master of Whisperers guise, he adopts a foreign appearance so that people are even less likely to recognize him when he’s in another guise; he usually covers his head, wears outlandish and bright attire, and paints around his eyes as well as on his upper lip and the bridge of his nose. -----He can recite where someone has been from just their appearance and disguise himself seamlessly in either gender. He also has an alarmingly vast network of spies (“little birds”), mostly children and the outcasts of society, and tends to be subtly protective of his agents, who in return are usually fanatically loyal. Other things of note are that he has a great singing voice that he will probably never show anyone, is slightly homosexual if not asexual, and still sends letters and souvenirs to his former master in Yunkai. here's some ideas -----Vairee isn’t going to have any lovers; he’ll probably just have one, and even an unrequited (from Vairee’s perspective) one at that. They can be either male or female, in any station of life, and in all likelihood it’ll be Vairee doting on them while they have no idea who is sending them charming trinkets via bright-eyed street orphans and mysteriously solving all of their problems. -----Friendship doesn’t come easy with Vairee, since he tends to be distant and distrustful. If your character works for him, he will almost unconditionally like them. Having a Dornish background will also make it easier, since Vairee finds their cultural idiosyncrasies amusing. Anybody else of high station will make the unlikeliest friends, since he tends to see them all as petty, havoc-loving vipers. Strangely, he tends to have few enemies, save people who are (rightfully) paranoid about his motives and power. He’ll dutifully defend the Seven Kingdoms and seek the best path for stability, but he only gets really riled for personal reasons, so if you need someone to do horrific, unspeakably awful things to your character all you need to do is offend him in some way. -----If you want your character to be involved in Vairee’s past for whatever reason, I can carefully and painfully explain it, but most of it takes place in Essos (Lys and Yunkai). If your character wants someone to accompany them on any random journey, needs a patron for their noble yet modest cause, or needs some information to move on with their story, Vairee will be available for you! |
